Amid growing concerns of mainstream media bias against Israel, journalist Lilac Sigan set out to produce a quantitative analysis that explores the disproportionate and biased coverage of Israel by The New York Times.
The study analyzes a period of time in which the Israeli government was led by a coalition composed primarily of center-left and left-wing political parties. Its key research question seeks to answer whether the prominent American newspaper has indeed displayed a measurable bias toward the world’s only Jewish state. In addition, it aims to define this bias for future studies on the same issue.
